The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced that the SSC Combined Higher Secondary Level Exam for 2014-15 would get commenced on 02 November 2014 & 09 November 2014. For the same, the candidates need to gear up their preparation and make sure that they can deliver to their fullest. The examination gets conducted by SSC to provide various data entry jobs and other government office clerk opportunities to the students. The examination is of Higher Secondary Level and there are four papers in total comprising of

1) General Intelligence,

ii) English Language,

iii) Quantitative Aptitude and

iv) General Awareness.

Overall the examination contains 200 questions and 200 marks along with them. The total time to solve the questions remains 2 hour for the general candidates. Those candidates who want to opt the questions in either Hindi or English can choose their option at the beginning of the examination.

Among all the papers the quantitative aptitude is a tricky one that needs to get a clear understanding so that the candidate can score real well in the examination. It is a high scoring paper which needs a little care while preparation in part of the candidates. The candidates would get asked basic arithmetic problems through which they must be accustomed with. The level of the questions is not that tough and a proper channelized preparation can make the paper a strong one for the candidates.   • Focus on Speed: There are 200 questions that you need to solve in mere 120 minutes which makes it a tough nut to crack. The questions in the quantitative aptitude section takes a little amount of time as it involves calculations and performing steps to solve the answers. This could be physically done in the white paper that the candidates are allowed to carry in the examination. You must try and device your own tricks and methods which you can use while answering in the examination. You can take expert advice and follow books and other study materials to go through tricks and strategies to be taken for doing sums easily and quickly without any compromise with precision.
  • Get your Numerical Ability Basics right: All you need to think about to crack this paper well is to get your basics right. The questions asked wouldn’t be tough and candidates with proper basic numerical knowledge would easily be able to go through the questions at one go.  A grip into the basics would make the candidates appear strong in the examination solving all the questions on time.
  • Manage your time effectively: The only section that might take a lot of your total examination time is the paper of quantitative aptitude. The questions that would appear in the paper would initially look to be straight forward but it is not necessary to be that easy while solving. The questions are so set that the candidates might get confused and lead themselves to the wrong answers. Hence, the candidates must be careful while handling the questions. You must device your own methods to solve questions though practice mock test papers and sample papers and check the time taken to solve them. You should keep a watch running in front of you while you are solving the questions. Managing time through your own devised methods and tricks can make you confident while solving the answers as well helping you to reach the right conclusion.

Know your Strength Areas: A candidate is never expected to be a master of all the papers when it comes to giving examination and there certainly are weaker spots that the candidates need to work on.
