CTET 2019: Notification Released, Application Form, Eligibility Criteria, Exam Date & Syllabus

CTET 2019 July notification has been released. Interested candidates can apply within the stipulated time frame i.e from 5th February 2019 to 5th March 2019. The CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test) is an entrance test which is conducted by CBSE for selection of eligible and competent candidates for the teaching profession in all Central Government Schools. Interested candidates those who want to pursue their dream as a teacher in Kendriya Vidyalaya, Novodaya Vidyalaya etc. must apply for CTET. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will publish the notification on its official website at the appropriate time. CTET qualified candidates can become teachers at primary and junior high school level (Class I to VIII). Interested candidates can check crucial information about CTET 2019 exam including registration, eligibility, exam pattern, syllabus, preparation tips, and important dates.

CTET (Central Teaching Eligibility Test) is a national level entrance examination which is conducted to appoint skilled teachers for Primary level and Upper Primary level. It conducted twice in a year – December and July. This year, CTET 2019 for July session is scheduled for July 7, 2019.

CTET 2019 Notification: Released

  • CTET Notification 2019 has been released on the official website of the CTET.  
  • The registration process has been started from 5th February 2019. Read all the instructions before submitting the application form.
  • Aspirants can apply online to CTET 2019 exam till 5th March 2019. Apply well in advance before the last date. 
  • The CTET 2019 examination date has been announced and it will be held on 7th July 2019.
  • Candidates must collect proper information regarding CTET 2019 exam before proceeding for applying online.

The Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi is the exam conducting authority for CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test). CTET Eligibility Criteria 2019

The applicant should ensure their eligibility for the upcoming CTET exam before applying online. Check the following information with regard to CTET eligibility criteria:

Eligibility for Primary Level (Class I to V)

  • The applicants should have completed senior secondary (12th) or equivalent exam securing minimum 50% marks and must have passed or appearing in last semester of two-year Diploma in Elementary Education.

OR

  • Those who have passed senior secondary or equivalent exam securing minimum 45% marks aggregate andalso have passed or appearing in last semester of two-year Diploma Course in Elementary Education recognized under NCTE Regulations, 2002.

OR

  • Candidates who have completed senior secondary education or equivalent exam obtaining minimum 50% marks and passed or pursuing last semester of four years Bachelor of Elementary Education.

OR

  • Candidates must have passed senior secondary or its equivalent exam with minimum 50% marks and qualified or appearing in last semester of two years Diploma Programme in Education (Special Education).

OR

  • A Graduate in relevant course/discipline and completed or appearing in the final semester of the two years diploma programme in Elementary Education.

Eligibility for Elementary Level (Class VI to VIII)

  • Applicants should have completed bachelor’s degree and passed or appearing in the final semester of 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education.

OR

  • Candidates having 50% marks in the graduation and also passed or appearing in one year course of Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.).

OR

  • A graduate with minimum 45% marks and completed or appearing in one year course of B.Ed. recognized under NCTE Rules and Regulations.

OR

  • Candidates must have passed senior secondary or equivalent exam with at least 50% marks andalso completed or appearing in the final semester of four years Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education.

OR

  • Those who have completed senior secondary or equivalent exam securing minimum 50% marks andalso completed or appearing in the final semester of four-year B.A.Ed./B.Sc.Ed. or B.A./B.Sc.Ed. programme

OR

  • Any Graduate with minimum 50% marks andalso completed or appearing in one year B.Ed. programme (Special Education).

CTET Application Form 2019: How to apply?

Eligible candidates can submit CTET 2019 online application form at the official website of the CBSE. The CBSE has published notification on the official website of the CTET stating the entire examination schedule and process. Every candidate must check eligibility criteria before submitting an application form. The registration process has been started from 5th February 2019. Interested candidates can apply online till 5th March 2019 i.e. the last date of application fee. 

Candidates have to provide personal details, educational qualification, address for correspondence including email ID and mobile number etc. in the online application form. Also, upload scanned images of the photograph and signature in the prescribed format and specifications. The application fee is also required to be paid for completion of the registration process. Take the printout of the application form at the end and keep it safe for future reference.

Application Fee

  • The registration fee for CTET Paper I or Paper II will be Rs.700 and Rs.1200/- for both papers in case of General/OBC candidates.
  • Similarly, the application fee for SC/SC/PwD candidates will be Rs.350/- for Paper-I or Paper-II and Rs.600 for both papers.
  • The applicant can pay application fee through online mode using net banking, debit/credit card and e-challan.
  • Candidates should know that the application fee will not be refunded in any case.

Method For Submitting CTET Application Form

  • Step 1: Visit official website i.e. www.ctet.nic.in.
  • Step 2:Click on the link ‘Apply Online’ and access the same.
  • Step 3:Now register yourself and provide information asked therein such as personal details, qualification, address, email ID & contact details etc. Note down the Application No./Registration No. for future reference.
  • Step 4:Now, upload the scanned photograph and signature as per the instructions.
  • Step 5:Pay registration or examination fee through any preferred mode either through debit/credit card, net banking or e-challan.
  • Step 6:Now take printout of the confirmation page for record and reference in future if needed.

CTET 2019 Exam Pattern

The applicants must start preparation well in advance as per the prescribed examination pattern. Candidates can check relevant information regarding CTET exam pattern below:

  • The CTET exam will consist of two papers for both primary and elementary stage.
  • Questions in both papers will be multiple choices in nature.
  • The duration of the exam will 2.30 hours.
  • There will total 150 questions in each paper.
  • Each question will carry one mark.

CTET Preparation Tips 2019

The aspirants need to make a preparation plan in order to crack the CTET 2019 exam. Here candidates can some of tips for CTET preparation as under:

  • First of all, candidates should have basic information about the CTET exam such as exam conducting authority, selection process, and examination scheme etc.
  • Candidates should know the CTET exam pattern and syllabus in details as it is very very important to start preparation.
  • After the release of the official CTET notification, candidates must obtain the information bulletin and go through same.
  • Make a preparation plan or study timetable and follow the same.
  • Collect some good reference book based CTET exam and practice hard.

CTET 2019 Admit Card

The CBSE will release admit card for CTET 2019 exam on its official website at least two weeks before the exam. Candidates can obtain the admit card from the website. You need to enter registration number and date of birth to download the CTET admit card.

The CTET admit card will consist of the crucial information like candidate’s name, roll number, date of exam, venue of the test and exam day instructions etc. Take a printout of the admit card and keep it safe. On the exam day, must carry admit card along with identity proof for verification purpose.

CTET 2019 Answer Keys

CTET 2019 answer keys will be available on official website. The CBSE will publish CTET answer key in due course of time after conducting the CTET exam. The candidates can download answer keys from the website easily. Candidates can make a rough judgment of their result with the help of answer keys. It is recommended that if any candidate finds the discrepancy in the answer keys then he/she should report the same to the competent authority within the specified time limit.

CTET Result 2019

The CTET result will be declared through online mode. The CBSE will publish result online at official website from where candidates can download it easily. It is expected that the CTET 2019 result will be announced in the month of April 2019.  Eligible candidates as per CTET result will be called for attending an interview on scheduled date and time. The result will be prepared on the basis of candidates’ written exam performance. One must obtain minimum qualifying marks in the CTET exam in order to qualify the test.

CTET Eligibility Certificate 2019

The competent authority will issue CTET eligibility certificate to those candidates who will qualify the CTET 2019 exam. Aspirants have to score more than 60% marks in the CTET exam for getting the CTET eligibility certificate. It will be sent to the candidates through Speed Post while CTET Mark Sheet will be issued via Ordinary Post. After obtaining the certificate, candidates should keep it safely for future purpose.

Validity of CTET Score/Certificate

  • The CTET certificate will be valid for the period of 7 years from the date of CTET result.
  • Candidates can apply for teaching jobs within a period of 7 years on the basis of the CTET eligibility certificate.
  • After its expiry, one needs to qualify CTET exam again. However, if someone wants to improve CTET score then he/she can appear in the CTET exam.
  • A person can appear in any number of time in the CTET exam as there is no restriction on the number of attempts.
  • Those who want to get a duplicate mark sheet or CTET certificate can request for the same by paying the requisite application fee. The fee of Rs.200/- can be paid via Demand Draft in favour of CBSE.

CTET 2019 Exam Highlights

  • The CTET 2019 exam is scheduled to be held on 7th July 2019.
  • Candidates can register online on the official website of the CTET i.e. www.ctet.nic.in.
  • The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is the regulatory authority for conducting CTET exam.
  • Application form can be submitted through online mode only. We recommend the applicants to obtain information bulletin before applying online.
  • All the applicants must verify their eligibility to appear in the exam before submitting the application form.
  • Payment of application fee is mandatory for completing the application form. After payment confirmation by the Bank/CTET, the confirmation page will be generated.
  • Candidates must score minimum qualifying marks in the CTET exam to get the certificate of eligibility.
  • There will be two papers in the CTET exam i.e. Paper-I and Paper-II.
  • One who intends to become the teacher at Class 1 to 5 level can appear in CTET Paper-I. Similarly, for class 6 to 8th, appear in the CTET Paper-II.
  • However, those who want to become the teacher in both the level can appear in both exams.
  • There are no restrictions on the number of attempts hence, the candidates can appear in any number of times.
  • CTET certificate will be valid for 7 years from the result announcement date.

CTET Cut off

Cut off is the minimum marks required to clear the exam and receive CTET Mark Statement. Candidates who score more than 60% will receive Eligibility Certificate. CTET Cut off is released after the declaration of results. The table below states the expected cut off for CTET 2019:
